Join me, SplatterGirl, during Year Three, my 2026 London exhibition, for an intensive three-day Advanced Blythe Sculpting Masterclass at The Gallery at The Playroom.
Over three days, I’ll guide you through taking Blythe customisation beyond traditional carving by introducing sculpting techniques that allow you to physically reshape the faceplate and add material to enhance and transform the facial features.
The focus of this masterclass is on creating more dimensional, expressive and individual characters while still retaining the recognisable proportions of a Blythe doll. I’ll share the sculpting techniques I use in my own work and help you develop a character and expression that feels distinctly yours.
This class is intended for customisers who already have experience with the basic Blythe customisation process and would like to develop their sculpting skills further.

What’s Included
You’ll receive a faux Blythe doll to customise during the masterclass, along with the materials required for the sculpting process.
I’ll provide shared specialist tools, equipment, sculpting materials, sanding materials, face-up supplies and finishing products for use throughout the three days.

• Your usual Blythe customisation tools, if you have them
• Reference images or sketches for the character, expression or overall direction you would like to explore
You’re also welcome to dress to complement your finished doll for our final photo session.
Experience Requirement
This is an advanced masterclass, so you should already have a basic understanding of Blythe customisation, including opening and reassembling the doll, carving, sanding and face-up.
 
If you are completely new to Blythe customisation, my 2-Day Blythe Customisation Masterclass on 8–9 October is the recommended starting point.
 
Disclaimer
I personally use authentic Blythe dolls for all my customs. However, for learning purposes, experimentation and to keep the cost of the masterclass lower, we will be using a faux Blythe doll in this class.
I’ll also provide tips on how to acquire lower-priced authentic Blythe dolls for your future customisation journey.
